R. Bruce Fleming

Mr.
Fleming has over 35 years of extensive business
experience, with an emphasis in finance. His
expertise with both service and manufacturing
businesses includes serving as a financial executive
with functional responsibilities for accounting,
banking relationships, budgeting, insurance,
information processing, legal and financial
reporting and personnel.
Prior to working with The Scotland Group, Inc., Mr.
Fleming served as Vice President of Special Projects
for Maxicare Health Plans, Inc., a large publicly
held corporation. He successfully managed the
administrative aspects of the company's
Reorganization Plan for several years, including the
establishment of an in-house data processing system
and staff to monitor and adjudicate the claims of
over 50,000 creditors, totaling over $1 billion. He
was also responsible for the Company's preparedness
for NCQA on a national basis.
Mr. Fleming served as Assistant Corporate Controller
to Purex Corporation and Corporate Controller to
Sega Corporation, both NYSE listed companies. As
Controller, he set up actual versus budget reporting
systems, established a cash-flow reporting system
that highlighted buildups of inventories and
receivables at various divisions, and also
instituted a "what if" costing system to accurately
analyze the effects of rapidly increasing costs.
As Vice President of Finance for Van de Kamp's
Holland Dutch Bakers, Inc., Mr. Fleming reduced
annual distribution expenses over $500,000 by route
restructuring and using a full maintenance truck
leasing program. He also managed the legal and
accounting work for four separate leveraged buyouts.
Mr. Fleming also served as Chief Financial Officer
and Secretary for Barco of California and worked as
a Consultant and Chief Financial Officer for Fleming
& Associates. This partnership helped start-up
companies establish systems of policies and
procedures, and assisted them in developing banking
relationships to finance their growth.
Mr. Fleming graduated from the University of
Southern California with a B.S. in Accounting and
received his CPA from the State of California. He
began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Los
Angeles. |
