Michael Patrick has over 28 years of Operations and Senior
Management experience, as well as extensive knowledge of world class
manufacturing requirements. Not only has he been at the helm of large
manufacturing firms, his expertise throughout his career has built his
reputation as a manufacturing and operations expert.
As a Vice President of Operations for Interstate Electronics Corporation, a
high tech military and aerospace electronics manufacturing company with a
volume of $120 million and 800 employees, he directed a staff of eight
managers. Under his leadership they were responsible for Production and
Test Development, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Quality, Material,
Industrial Engineering, and Proposal Development. Mr. Patrick was also
responsible for implementing a quick changeover to a fully automated PCB
assembly line to support high mix, low volume production.
Mr. Patrick subsequently served as Vice President of Operations for Datum
Inc. for their largest division in Irvine, California. Within the first
year he was responsible for reducing the inventory value by 55% and
establishing an inventory management system. He also reduced product cost
by over 60% and established a supply chain management program which cut
lead times in half. Because of his outstanding accomplishments, he was
called upon to assist other divisions in improving their manufacturing and
operations performance. Mr. Patrick led his team at Irvine to achieve the
corporate distinction of being named Datum’s “Center of Manufacturing
Excellence.” He was then promoted to President of Datum-Irvine, with full
P&L responsibility, as well as Corporate Vice President of Datum Inc.
Datum-Irvine sales were in excess of $60 million annually, with 250
employees. The division was responsible for development, marketing/sales,
manufacturing and service of high tech commercial electronic equipment and
systems for the telecommunications industry. In his first year as President
of the Irvine Division, a record year of profit was accomplished. In all
subsequent years, the team consistently met or exceeded the division’s
business plans. Mr. Patrick was also responsible for developing and
planning the necessary due diligence on two acquisitions.
Leading the design team in development of a state-of-the-art rubidium based
atomic clock, the team not only beat the competition to market by over a
year, but also won the prestigious “Technology of the Year” award. The
product was introduced with a 75% size reduction, a 50% cost reduction, and
double the previous warranty.
Mr. Patrick received his Science Degree in Business Management and is a
graduate of the Senior Executive Programs at Stanford University in Palo
Alto, California and the Wharton Business School at the University of
Pennsylvania. He also served briefly as Chairman of the Southern California
American Electronics Association Operations and Engineering Sub-Committee. |
