Mr. Price is a hands-on manufacturing leader who has
successfully forged a series of turnaround, start-up and critically needed
improvements with various manufacturers – including automotive components,
electronics, airbag engineering and power boats – all under very tough
business conditions. His responsibilities covered all functional areas,
including sales, purchasing and engineering. Mr. Price has effectively
implemented lean manufacturing, constraint management, Toyota Production
System, Six Sigma, set-up reduction (SMED), Kaizen, JIT, TPM, etc. With a
deep knowledge of both union and non-union situations, he has been able to
successfully teach and implement lean tools in various companies. Mr. Price
served in several special assignments as an internal source to catalyze
improvement, both domestically and overseas. He also led three different
organizations in ISO/QS 9000 certification.
In his work as a turnaround and improvement leader since 1992, Mr. Price
has served the following companies: Allied Signal (Honeywell),
Electromotive, Johnson Truck Bodies (Carlisle Corporation), Tower
Automotive, Morgan Corporation, Stingray Powerboats, Auto Nation and
Federal Mogul. He has held the following positions: Business Unit Leader,
Vice President, General Manager, and Director of Operations. Mr. Price led
six businesses from a profit loss to significant positive profit positions,
all within 18 months, with no failures, and was awarded “The United States
Senate Productivity Award.”
As a turnaround specialist, Mr. Price most recently served as Director of
Operations at Electromotive. There he directed a diverse manufacturing
organization with over 1,200 employees. Electromotive’s operation entailed
complex machining, tooling, fabrication, assembly, maintenance and
materials. Mr. Price was able to realize significant reductions in costs,
quality defects, and critical path cycle time at the company while
improving on-time delivery and uptime in key operations - despite a huge
hourly employee turnover, new data systems and aging equipment.
Prior to working as a turnaround specialist, Mr. Price held the position of
Operations Manager at Delco Electronics. His areas of specialization were
Electronics Manufacturing and Labor Relations. At Delco, he led the
business from break even to a dramatic profit increase, while nearly
tripling productivity and decreasing defects by more than 90%. Mr. Price
restructured Human Resources for the entire division, and was appointed the
role of chief negotiator for management.
Mr. Price received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from
Purdue University, with areas of specialization in Marketing and Labor. He
has also completed coursework for a M.S. in Organizational Development at
Bowling Green State University. |
